Forum: Being a Sanctuary Parish, Oct 8, 9:15am

Join our guest, the Rev. Canon Joanne Leslie, the Diocese of Los Angeles' Archdeacon Emeritus, for a forum on being a sanctuary for immigrants and refugees.
In Dec 2016 the Diocese of Los Angeles overwhelmingly passed a resolution to become a sanctuary diocese. St. Augustine's followed suit shortly thereafter with our vestry unanimously passing a resolution in spring 2017 to become a sanctuary parish. Copies of our parish's resolution will be available at the forum.
What does this mean for the diocese and for us? Come learn about diocesan-level activism and join the discussion on ways our parish can live into serving at-risk immigrants and refugees.
Canon Leslie will also be preaching at both the 8am and 10:30am services.
