In recent decades the church has wrestled with tough issues involving human sexuality, with particularly heated debates around LGBTQ+ inclusion/affirmation, reproductive rights and sexual morality. Join us as we look at the theology and biblical foundation for how the Episcopal Church understands each issue.
Meets in the St. Francis and St. Clare classroom, on the 2nd floor of the church office building at the far end of the courtyard. Friends and visitors welcome!
June 16 - LGBTQ+
How is it that St. Augustine's and The Episcopal Church, as a whole, are LGBTQ+ welcoming and affirming - with LGBTQ+ deacons, priests and bishops and in performing same-sex marriages?
June 23 - Reproductive Rights
How are we, as people of faith, to wrestle with this contentious issue? And what is the position of the Episcopal Church?
June 30 - Sexual Ethics
Where does the church stand on Christian sexual ethics, and how do we create such an ethic in our own lives?
