Women's Gathering on Spiritual Life & Pandemic, May 8-10
Need a space to set down the challenges of life at this time? Worried that you are not coping as well as everyone else?
Join our sisters in faith for Living the Real Story: Spiritual Life & Pandemic - a series of restorative online gatherings with optional activities between sessions. Bring whatever is going on with you and simply enjoy being together.
Led by the Rev. Hailey McKeefry Delmas, a deacon and journalist from the San Francisco Bay Area, we will lift up to God and one another how we really are doing - be it our struggles and challenges, our yearnings and aches, or perhaps our insights and discoveries. Together we will look for God's presence, promise and hope in the darkness, in the light, and in whatever comes next.
The weekend follows a spiritual arc, but the sessions are structured so that you can drop in an out of as few or as many as you are able. We do encourage you to come to the short introduction Friday night to see how much (or little) of the weekend may work best for you. And the gathering is open to women in St. A's, both past and present, as well as female friends and loved ones. All are welcome.
SCHEDULE
7pm Fri: Welcome & Overview (30 to 45min)
Read the opening tale: A Story of Darkness and Light
10am Sat: Living in the Darkness (90min)
3pm Sat: Looking for the Light (90 min)
3pm Sun: I Wonder What’s Next (90 min)
Before the final session on Sunday, Deacon Hailey will hold special prayer times dedicated to specific groups within our community: mothers; caregivers; people living alone; and vital workers who have to go into the world.
Between Zoom gatherings there will be optional offline activities that range from watching to listening, reading, writing or simply taking Sabbath time to simply "be" and do nothing. Consider these a "choose your own adventure" of sorts for the weekend.
To register: email Carrie Price by the end of the day Thursday 5/7 - whether you expect to come to all or some of the sessions. No need to specify which. We simply need a sense of how many women will be coming as well as your email address so we can send you materials and the Zoom link.
There is no fee for the weekend.
