First-time visitors
Parking
The church is across the street from a city-run parking structure, on 4th Street between Arizona and Wilshire. There is free parking on Sunday mornings until 12:30pm, and on weekdays the first 90 minutes are free. There is limited metered parking on nearby streets.
Public Transit
Metro: The church is 3 ½ blocks north of the last stop of the E (Expo) Line in Santa Monica. Walk up 4th Street and the church is on the right, ½ block after Arizona.
Big Blue Bus: Stops on Route 2 and Route 9 lines are on the same block as the church, 4th Street between Arizona and Wilshire. The lines that come to downtown Santa Monica have stops within a few blocks of the church: Routes 3, 5, 7, 8, 10 and 18.
Attire
Come as you are, however you feel comfortable worshiping. Some choose to be relaxed in jeans, others prefer business casual or smarter business attire, and others enjoy dressing up in Sunday best.
Worship style
The Episcopal Church believes in the ways structured ritual can form and shape us in the image of Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit. When you arrive you’ll receive a bulletin with the whole service printed out, including our common prayers, music, and guidance on when to stand, sit or kneel. Or if you’re joining us online the bulletin is available for download.
Communion
Every Sunday we share in the bread and wine. Everyone is welcome at Christ’s table, wherever you are on your spiritual journey, and whatever your age or background with Christianity or the Episcopal Church. Instructions on receiving are printed in the bulletin. And if you prefer not to share in communion, you are invited to come forward for a blessing from one of our priests.
